Fine poppies knitted on DPN’s from outside to inside.

Both the stamens and the fruit knot in the center of the flower are knitted.

The poppy has a stem part that is knitted separately and sewn onto the back of the flower.

Dimension:	Diameter of the flower: 8cm on 3.0mm (US 2.5) DPN or 7cm on 2.5mm (US 1.5) DPN. 1 flower weighs approximately 3g.
Yarn:	Spindrift, 100% Pure Shetland Wool from Jamieson’s of Shetland. Yardage: 25g = 105m (115yd) 25g shade 1140 Granny Smith. 25g shade 825 Olive. 25g shade 426 Poppy. 25g shade 525 Crimson. 25g shade 580 Cherry. 25g shade 500 Scarlet.
Needles:	One set of double pointed needles (DPNs) 3.0mm (US 2.5) or 2.5mm (US 1.5)
Tension:	Stocking stitch: 10×10 cm = 26st and 38 rows on 3.0mm (US 2.5). 10×10 cm = 29st and 45 rows on 2.5mm (US 1.5).
Other material (not included):	For the stem use a metal stem wire. Alternatively, you can find small branches in nature or use knitting needles. The stem wire gets more “alive” if green “floral tape” is wrapped around it.
