Ruth graduated as a textile designer from the Kolding School of Design. She has worked in various textile fields, but since 2000 she has been working as an independent knitwear designer.

In her work, she is especially inspired by nature as well as the Nordic knitting tradition. Ruth focuses primarily on patterned knitting, and her designs are characterized by organic motifs and rich color variations. The Fair Isle tradition is a major source of inspiration, and she also draws inspiration from historical treasures during her visits to Danish museums.
